Innovation in Action: Sandra Muomba's Plastic Recycling Initiative

Sandra E. Muomba, co-founder of Omni Impact and a dynamic alumna from Teach For Zimbabwe’s 2nd cohort, is making waves with her innovative solution to repurpose plastic waste into durable, eco-friendly chairs for kids in marginalized areas. As a finalist in the prestigious EdLaunch initiative, Sandra is set to showcase her groundbreaking project at Pitch Day, taking place from May 28-30, 2025.

Transforming Waste into Educational Resources

This innovative approach not only reduces waste but also provides a practical solution to a critical need.
Prioritizing Inclusivity and Accessibility

Her project ensures that all learners, regardless of background or ability, can benefit from a safe and comfortable learning environment. By engaging with local communities and educators, Sandra has developed a model that is responsive to the needs of students and adaptable to Zimbabwe’s educational landscape.
Amplifying Voices for Change
At Pitch Day, Sandra will share her innovative solution and amplify the voices of learners and teachers advocating for change. Her journey exemplifies how great ideas can emerge from real challenges and how those closest to the issues can drive meaningful solutions.
