Edson Dongo Founder & Director

Edson Dongo holds a Bachelor of Technology Honours Degree in Hospitality and Tourism from Chinhoyi University of Technology, a Postgraduate Diploma in Education from Zimbabwe Open University, and is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Climate Change and Sustainable Development at Bindura University of Science Education. With over a decade of experience in climate leadership, education, and community development, he is the founder and  currently serves as Director at Omni Impact, where he leads strategic planning, project implementation, stakeholder coordination, grant writing, and outreach for programs focused on Environment & Climate Change, Health & Well-being, and Education & Life Skills.

Previously, Edson was the Climate Change Lead at Teach For Zimbabwe (2021–2024), where he managed national and regional projects, initiated conservation clubs and green school competitions, developed climate education modules, and organized youth conferences on climate awareness. He represented Zimbabwe and the African region on global platforms including COP27, COP28, UNESCO, UNFCCC, and IRENA, and co-founded the Pan-African Climate Education Network (PACE), which promotes climate education across the continent. Earlier in his career, Edson worked as a teacher in the Hurungwe District under the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education (2012–2017), integrating conservation initiatives into school programs and coordinating community development projects.

He holds numerous certifications including a Certificate in Basics of Management (Teach For All, 2024), Gender and Disability Mainstreaming in Climate Change (UNDP, 2023), Climate Education Champion (Teach For All, 2023), Project-Based Learning for Climate Justice (University of Pennsylvania, 2023), Climate Education (Office for Climate Education, 2023), How to Promote Child Participation (Arigatou International, 2023), Climate Advocacy and Leadership (Earth Warriors Global, 2022), a National Foundation Certificate in Sign Language (DTZ, 2022), and a Certificate in Digital Skills and Leadership Development (ProFuturo, 2022). Edson is a Co-founder of the Pan-African Climate Education Network (PACE), a Teach For Zimbabwe Alumni, a Member of the Learning Planet Collective, and a Member of the African Group of Negotiators Expert Support (AGNES). Passionate about climate justice, youth empowerment, and sustainable development, Edson is widely recognized for his visionary leadership, policy advocacy, and innovative contributions to environmental education across Africa.
